Boot and Bike Friendly Breck
Boot and Bike Friendly Breck
A thriving Breck for all who call it home is one where walking and biking feel like the obvious choice.
Executing the Blue River Pathways Master Plan
The Blue River Rec Path is already one of Breckenridge's great assets. With smart investment and a commitment to execution, we can make it world-class.
Fully implement the Blue River Pathways Master Plan, starting with the section from the Riverwalk Center to Ski Hill Road, including the new bridge and path widening
Improve signage throughout the Rec Path and trail network so families and visitors can navigate safely
Prioritize Rec Path repairs and maintenance for year-round safety and usability
Support the town's more boots and bikes, less cars vision from the Destination Management Plan
Explore micro transit options including on demand and electric shuttle services to connect neighborhoods, transit stops, and the town core
Support bike parking and storage options in high-traffic areas
Realizing the Potential of McCain Open Space
The McCain property on the north end of town is one of the most significant opportunities Breckenridge has in front of it. The town has already developed the McCain Open Space Design and Management Plan and I am committed to seeing it realized. Getting it right is exactly the kind of work I am running to do.
Support the McCain bike path extension connecting the property to existing trails
Champion Blue River restoration and preservation, protecting water quality and the natural character of the river corridor
Support bridge infrastructure and open space access for locals and visitors alike
Ensure trailhead, parking, and utility infrastructure are planned and funded responsibly
Advocate for a sequenced, well-funded approach so open space, trail, and river work move forward together
Making Streets Safer for Everyone
Too many of our busiest streets feel unsafe for people on foot or on a bike. Safer crossings, better lighting, and accessible pathways are how we make walking and biking a real option for locals every day, for all ages and abilities.
Improve pedestrian crossing safety on high-traffic streets with better crosswalks and flashers
Support safer connections between neighborhoods and the town core
Advocate for better lighting on key pathways for early morning and evening use
Ensure pathways are accessible for all ages and abilities
Make it easier for locals to commute by bike or on foot instead of driving
Improve winter maintenance on key pedestrian routes where possible
The Bottom Line
A thriving Breck for all who call it home is one where you do not need a car to enjoy everything this town has to offer. That is the town I am running to help build.
